How do you respond to ‘I love you’ when the feeling isn’t mutual?

Hey SL Fabz,
I need your help with this tough question.
What is the best way to respond to ‘I Love You‘ when you are not ready to say it back? How do you do this in a good way without hurting the person’s feelings?
This question is for every one, the guys and the ladies. I’ll really like to know what you think.
By being polite and just saying thank you whenever the person tells you that
OR
by saying the truth
OR
by not saying anything at all… The person will definitely get d message
I just stare at the person and wouldn’t say anything to him/her and I would be like does this person actually know what he/she is saying.
*Smiles* i have found myself in that situation before, funny enough its feels heavy responding back even though what i feel for that person is just admiration.
Many at times its usually via text message, so what i do instead of saying I LOVE YOU TOO, i respond by saying SAME HERE, while sometimes i do as if i did not see the message.
