START AN EMPIRE FROM YOUR LIVING ROOM
Hello fabulous people, I was doing some light reading the other day and I came across something I would like to share. Despite the economy, we have to find a way to adapt in trying times and make a difference doing it.
Bola made a difference in her living room. Bola is a twenty-five year old graduate of 3 years that got tired of unemployment, so she decided to do something about it, she had a very good fashion sense and she could turn an old cloth into something special that would have friends and family complimenting. Just as the scriptures say “your gift will find a way for you”, it did for Bola, she started sewing classes to sharpen her skills and then from her parents’ living room she made beautiful gowns that were sold, designing and sewing cloths that would make her known in the future. She might not be driving big cars or spending lots of money yet but she’s never broke and I tell you, she’s well on her way.
Emmanuel is a banker, he works odd hours and makes very little. Four years into this, he got tired. During this period, he made a lot of friends in the corporate world, after a lot of research, he realized people spend a fortune on shoes and suits, so he started his own business and from his tiny living room in Mushin, he started making shoes with banners on the front. He has a very successful shoe outfit today.
Dayo was a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, he wasn’t getting the kind of financial support he wanted from home. It was Valentine’s season and there was love in the air, people were buying gifts for their girlfriends, Dayo thought of a more sophisticated way to package gifts and that was how ‘BOX IT’ was born.
He got himself some cardboard, scissors, staplers and ribbons and he made beautiful boxes which he sold for a fair price, now he is a married man with a child and he makes boxes for a living. The upstairs of his home is his working studio and his showroom, and he has about twenty people on his payroll, he even teaches people to make boxes, despite the economy, he is making it count.
SL FABZ! YOU could start a business empire from your living room, we are in the age of internet and computers, everything is easy. You could be a forex trader, you could be a sales rep online, if you have the talent of writing, you could sell your articles online ; there are so many things to do, so many opportunities, you just need to look harder, cast a wider net and think out of the box. Whatever you do fabulous people, make it count!
xoxo

August 6, 2013 at 2:04 pmThanks for this inspirational message its was something i needed to stubble across. Knowing that there are others doing the same thing God placed has in my heart to do. To everyone out there the moral of the story is, if you have any kind on talent start WHERE YOUR AT even though its small it could take you further than you could ever imagine. Thanks SL for sharing. xoxoxo
