Yesterday was Father’s Day<\/a> and you bet it was awesome. Congratulations again to all the wonderful Dad’s out there.<\/p>\n

I’m so excited about this week, especially about today.<\/p>\n

You will recall that a few months ago, I\u00a0was promoting the Queens Young Leaders Award<\/a>\u00a0on this blog\u00a0while encouraging young Nigerians who are partaking in worthy leadership and charity causes in their communities to register. I’m so glad that\u00a0four young Nigerian leaders <\/a>were selected to receive this award. They are\u00a0Isaiah Owolabi<\/strong>\u00a0of HACEY Health Initiative;\u00a0Kelvin Ogholi<\/strong>\u00a0of UNFIRE;\u00a0Nkechikwu Azinge<\/strong>\u00a0of The Sickle Cell Aid Foundation and\u00a0Oladipupo Ajiroba<\/strong>\u00a0of The Environmental Advocacy and Management Initiative.<\/p>\n

So today, I will be attending the award ceremony with my hubby at the Buckingham Palace on a special invitation from the Queen! Now you know why I’m excited.<\/p>\n

These four Nigerians are among 60 inspirational young people aged 18-29 across the Commonwealth who will receive their award from Her Majesty the Queen later today and will be rewarded with a bespoke package of mentoring, training and networking, which will help them realize their full potential. With this they can go on to inspire other young people to help shape the future of the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n
