One thing I picked whilst researching on his works was what he said about growing up on the streets until he was 14 when his mother relocated to another side of town and sent him to a private school, Oakland Military Academy in New York. In Denzel\u2019s words: \u201c\u2026because I wouldn\u2019t have survived in the direction I was going. The guys I was hanging out with at the time, my running buddies, have now done maybe 40 years combined in the penitentiary (prisons). They were nice guys, but the streets got them!\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cstreets\u201d can be anything that is stopping you from realizing your full potential. The \u201cstreets\u201d can be that habit that is holding you back from living your best life. The \u201cstreets\u201d can be anyone who persistently drums fear and doubt into your spirit. The \u201cstreets\u201d can represent anything. For Denzel, the \u201cstreets\u201d were friends who were heading in the wrong direction. But he was lucky to\u00a0get out of it, and for the last 20 years the world celebrates him, adores his works, and respects his craft.<\/p>\n

It is time to let go of the \u201cstreets\u201d. Whatever it is, tell yourself I am letting go of it now so I can fulfill destiny!<\/p>\n
