We all want to nurture good relationships with our family, friends, partners, bosses etc…
But a good relationship starts with you admitting the truth about the people in your life.
Firstly, how good are you to them?
Then, how good are they to you?
If you find yourself making too many excuses for others, then maybe you need to re-evaluate the relationship.
There is always enough time in the day to send a text message, to make a quick call, or send a word through any of the hundreds of social platforms we have.
If he/she is visibly absent when you need them, excuses might help you deal with the issue; but it will not sustain the relationship.
“Oh he is busy…”
“She must have forgotten…”
“May be he fell off a cliff and lost his memory…”
“She’s probably too tired to call…”
It takes two (or more) to show love and affection. Don’t be the only one giving 100%.
It will drain you eventually.
So what I am saying is: appraise your relationships. And if you have to sit down and talk to someone, do it.
All the best!
